World Environment Day: our commitments
When we talk about the environment, we're not just talking about pretty landscapes (even though we love that at Wooper!). The environment encompasses flora and fauna , biodiversity , and even our future as a human species (no less!).
World Environment Day ( WED) is an opportunity to reflect on our role in protecting our precious Earth. At Wooper, we take this role to heart, and we look forward to sharing our eco-responsible commitments and actions .
Wooper and its commitment to the environment
At Wooper, we have a passion for nature as great as our passion for creating jewelry, and we are committed to protecting it for future generations. This commitment is reflected in each of our creations.
A word from the creators
Our story begins after we witnessed the impact of humans on our planet during our travels and hikes. We therefore decided to take action on our own scale and with our own ideas, not by becoming superheroes (even if we all dream of it a little), but by creating Wooper, a brand of customizable jewelry made from a noble, sustainable, and eco-responsible material: wood.
Since 2020, Laura, Damien's partner (who is writing this article), has joined him in this crazy adventure, bringing new ideas and managing orders like a chef; she has become the partner without whom none of this would be possible!
Ethical manufacturing & a noble material
At Wooper, we've chosen ethical and local production. For our creations, the fasteners are made of recycled PET or stainless steel.
Our pieces are crafted from Swiss wood, sourced from a local carpentry workshop in Valais, and whenever possible, recycled from sections unsuitable for carpentry. No trees were specifically cut down to create our wooden jewelry.
Quality, authenticity, eco-responsibility
Our wooden jewelry is conceived, designed, crafted, and shipped from our workshop by Laura and/or Damien. Our mission is to minimize our carbon footprint as much as possible, from design to shipping. Because doing good for the planet doesn't stop at the workshop door!
Wooper's concrete actions for the planet
Talking about ecology and the environment is one thing, but at Wooper, we prefer to take action. We've implemented concrete measures to protect our beautiful natural world by supporting various environmental and animal causes that are important to us. Helping through our creations gives them even more meaning.
The partnership with Summit Foundation
Concerned about the environmental cause, we have chosen to partner with Summit Foundation, a local NGO that works to protect the environment in the mountains.
For every piece of jewelry purchased, Wooper donates 2 CHF to the Summit Foundation. This is equivalent to cleaning 100m² of mountain terrain during the Clean Up Tour events, organized to clean the peaks in the spring after the ski season ends. By choosing a wooden piece of jewelry from Wooper, you're making a significant contribution to our planet.

Supporting La Bouche qui rit, an animal shelter
Our commitments don't stop at protecting the environment. We also love our animal friends and we have decided to support them.
For every animal medal, children's bracelet, or essential oil diffuser purchased, Wooper donates 2 CHF to the La Bouche qui rit animal shelter. Thanks to this gesture, a rabbit, for example, can enjoy its daily hay for 10 days. Cool, right?
It was important to us to help them in our own way with the rescue and care of these little furry and feathered souls, because we also witnessed the passion and perseverance of the owners of this shelter. A true dedication that touched us deeply.

Buying the "Tree of Life" bracelet is not just a purchase; it's also a contribution to an ecological project. For every "Tree of Life" bracelet sold, you contribute to planting trees in French-speaking Switzerland thanks to our partnership with Almighty Tree.
Almighty Tree is an organization that strives to preserve, protect and enhance our magnificent Swiss forests, and has already planted more than 30,893 trees in Switzerland since 2020. By supporting a local project aimed at diversifying our forests with species adapted to climate change, we are proud to contribute to the sustainable management of our forests.
