Word from the creators

Hello !

My name is Damien and this is the story of Wooper founded in 2018. During my travels or during simple hikes, I have unfortunately noticed the impact of man on our planet. I became aware of the issues of overconsumption , pollution and waste.

Being an independent graphic designer , curious and a jack of all trades, I felt the need to work on the material again, having in the past completed a CFC as a bodywork sheet metal worker.

I therefore rediscovered the pleasure of working with materials through laser engraving and cutting which became my tools for transforming ideas into tangible realities, marking the beginning of our quest to raise awareness through the art of sustainable jewelry.

So I took out my pencil and my notebook and created a first collection of wooden bracelets with one wish: To offer unique jewelry that encourages people to adopt a more thoughtful approach to consumption, in a noble, durable and eco-responsible material.

This is how Wooper was born!

As more and more of you trust us, my darling Laura joined me in the adventure at the beginning of 2020. She manages orders and brings new ideas for future creations, she has become my partner unparalleled, more than essential on a daily basis.

Because yes, Wooper, it's only Damien & Laura, with no one else.

We are the only creative artisans, and all our pieces are customizable, made to order and with love. Today we still keep the same vision: making unique, customizable and accessible jewelry.

The perfect little gift to give to loved ones. In 2023, we became the happy parents of Joy, who helps us... turn the workshop around and make us laugh and let go throughout the day.

We will stop there for our story and we welcome you to our world, to the Wooper family!

OUR JEWELRY CREATION PROCESS

Ethical manufacturing & a noble material

With Wooper, we have chosen an ethical production of local, artisanal and eco-responsible wooden jewelry.

To make our creations, we use FSC-certified beech wood and recycled PET cords.

All our pieces are made from recycled wood, from a local carpentry in Valais.

Good news, no tree was specifically cut to create your wooden jewel. Also know that our packaging is 100% recyclable , guaranteed without any plastic waste.

OUR COMMITMENTS TO THE PLANET

1 jewel = 100m² cleaned in the mountains

At Wooper, we are particularly sensitive to the environmental cause.

To go further than a “simple” speech, we decided to get involved with a local Vevey NGO: Summit Foundation. On each piece of jewelry purchased, Wooper donates 2 Chf to Summit Foundation .

Concretely, this is equivalent to 100m² cleaned in the mountains. Summit Foundation is an NGO which has been committed since 2001 to the protection of the mountain environment and in particular to the prevention of littering.

Its main activities?
Prevention campaigns in nearly 80 ski resorts in Switzerland and France, waste collection actions in spring and even concrete solutions to facilitate waste management.

No jealousy: we also love our animal friends and we wanted to support them.

For any animal medal purchased, children's bracelet, key ring or essential oil diffuser, Wooper donates 1 Chf to the Erminea center.

Erminea is a wildlife care center located in Chavornay.

It welcomes sick or injured wild animals to provide them with quality care, rehabilitate them and release them into their natural environment to contribute to the balance of our precious ecosystem. For example, you will allow a hedgehog to enjoy a good meal at the Erminea care center.

Almigthy Tree contributes to sustainable forest management by offering its tree planting services to individuals and businesses.

Seeking to design a sustainable future and improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of our communities, Almighty Tree focuses on the enhancement of our wooded heritage, as well as the development of our forests and biodiversity in Switzerland, all by raising awareness among the population and businesses by bringing them closer to nature.

Since 2020, more than 2,000 trees have been planted in Switzerland through Almigthy Tree's activities.
